Cradle Of Filth just released their first new live album in 21 years Trouble And Their Double Lives featuring two new songs "She Is A Fire" and "Demon Prince Regent". The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Scott Atkins (Cradle Of Filth, Sylosis, Venom Prison) at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England with recording captured by Danny B (Lock Up).
"The footage for the studio track ‘Demon Prince Regent’ was filmed on the road whilst recently undertaking the co-headline 'Double Trouble Live' tour withDevilDriverin the US. The video is a logical visual bridge between airing the second studio track and the actual live album, wherein you also get the luxury of seeing our repugnant faces.
"As for the album itself, I hope everyone enjoys this cantankerous volley of s(hits) just as much as we enjoyed making them, with songs stolen from Cradle shows from all across the world. And as cliche as it sounds, 'this album is totally for the fans… Let’s see those fucking horns!!!'"
Trouble And Their Double Lives is available here. In a recent interview with Metal Injection, Dani Filth elaborated on choosing songs for the live album and why there are two new studio songs on it.
"It was pretty hard actually honing down the tracks," said Filth. "Firstly, the reason for this is because there was a space for it to fill. Our last record was delayed by a year because of the pandemic, which subsequently meant our change from Nuclear Blast to Napalm Records was delayed.
"Well, we actually started work on a new album, which was those two songs, but then we had a lineup change, so we decided to reboot from scratch and thought it would be a good idea as well to put those songs on the double live package just because there's plenty of room. We want to give our fans a window into Cradle at that particular time, which is like '21-22.
"But yeah, choosing the songs, obviously we could only choose from the ones we played on the world tour. But the world tour was four years, so there's plenty of ingredients. But we had one eye on not repeating stuff we did on the last live album, which was about 20 years ago, and also wanted to put fan favorites on there.
"But we also wanted a good sort of smorgasbord of tracks from across our back catalog. So anything from Principle right through to Cryptoriana. And we wanted to be quite fair with that so it wasn't too new stuff heavy or too Cruelty and the Beast heavy. So yeah, I mean it was a bit of a lottery and took quite a while to hone that down and get the track listing right as well."
Metallica played their first M72 World Tour show at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, Netherlands on April 27. The band opened with the Master Of Puppets instrumental "Orion" for the first time since 2011, and gave both "Screaming Suicide" and "Sleepwalk My Life Away" from 72 Seasons their live debuts.
The M72 World Tour has Metallica playing each city for two nights with no repeat songs. So every song on the entire setlist you'll find below won't be played again on April 29.
Corners of Sanctuary Return to the UK To Finish What They Started
After three years, a worldwide COVID shutdown, a revolving door of restrictions, and several false starts, Corners of Sanctuary (COS) are heading back to the United Kingdom, bringing their "This is Metal: Finish What We Started Tour" across the pond. Following the band's 2020 UK visit being cut short in light of the pandemic, COS looks to pick up the pieces and trek their classic Heavy Metal sound around the British Isle.
See schedule below.
"It's been a long time coming," says COS guitarist Mick Michaels on the band's UK return. "I don't think any of us first thought it would have taken so long to go back...a few points along the way even had us thinking that it may never happen. But it is, and we are super excited."
The tour, powered by Blackstar Amplification and Samsun Cymbals-United States, is being presented by British-based Pure Power Darkside Management. Support for the tour includes select performances by UK acts Sour Tusk, Viral Strain, Stonepit Drive, and Scarred By Truth.
Upon Corners of Sanctuary's return to the United States, the band will be supporting Spread Eagle on May 20th and will be performing at SonarFest 2023 this summer on four separate dates. Additionally, COS will continue to work on their next full-length album as well as plans for a new EP, "Metal Up," later this year.
