"SUBSTRATUM by Urarv: A Raw and Unrelenting Attack on Your Senses"

On the 4th of April, Polypus Records will be unleashing a new release by Urarv titled SUBSTRATUM. This latest release is a raw and unrelenting attack on your senses, taking you on a journey through the band's past, present, and future.

Featuring alternative versions of songs from their previous albums, Aurum and Argentum, as well as a brand new endeavor, SUBSTRATUM is a unique and exciting addition to the band's discography. These recordings were done in 2013, before the two first albums, and additional instruments were added in 2021/2022, resulting in an epic and insane dive into the cesspools of long-forgotten sewers.

What sets SUBSTRATUM apart is the purity of its sound. It has a 90s feel that will please old-school ears, while also incorporating instrumental additions that make the album appealing to more modern ears. The feeling and delivery of the musicians are pure and true, which is a rarity in today's demanding music market.

The band dug the sound and feel of these recordings so much that they thought they surpassed the album recordings in many ways and deserved proper attention. They have added lots of new layers, instrumentally and vocally, with some nice contributions from various artists throughout 2021 and 2022.

In summary, SUBSTRATUM is a treat for anyone who wants to experience the raw and unrelenting sound that is URARV. As the band continues to work on their third studio album, this release is a must-listen for fans of metal and those looking for something new and exciting.

MORDKAUL Unleashes "Crown of Worms", Second Single from Forthcoming Album

With “Crown Of Worms”, Mordkaul releases the second and opening track of the upcoming album “Feeding The Machine”.

Belgian melodic death metal band MORDKAUL has recently released "Crown of Worms," the second single from their upcoming album "Feeding The Machine - Part 1". Serving as the opening track of the album, "Crown of Worms" follows the band's debut album, "Dress Code: Blood," but with more diverse influences. Nonetheless, it still carries the Swedish death metal feel that defined the band's earlier sound.

The track starts with a building intro, followed by a moshpit-inducing arrangement. The aggressive dual vocals, energetic drumming, and groovy midsection with shredding solos, as with their first track release, "For I Am Machine", are expected.

In the band's own words, the lyrics delve into humanity's tendency to admire and follow individuals who lack moral qualities, despite their eventual misguidance and corruption of our soul.

"Feeding The Machine - Part 1" was recorded at Project Zero studio by Yarne Heylen in the summer of 2022. As with "Dress Code: Blood," Dan Swanö handled mixing and mastering. The album is slated to be released on February 16th, 2023.
